Istanbul Stock Exchange suspends operations against lira falls

The Istanbul Stock Exchange on Monday again automatically suspended trading in securities against the backdrop of another record fall in the Turkish lira, Report informs citing TASS.
"As of 15:54, the automatic system was activated. Transactions were temporarily suspended in all areas of the stock exchange: in transactions in shares, futures and options, as well as in repo trading in shares and debt securities," the Stock Exchange said in a statement.
At the moment, the Turkish lira has lost about 7.67% against the US dollar since the beginning of trading in the morning. The exchange rate rose to 17.78 lira per dollar, which is another historical record for the Turkish currency.
