Google Pay, Samsung Pay may start operating in Azerbaijan

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is in talks with Google and Samsung on launching their payment systems in the country, CBA Director-General Farid Osmanov told Report.

“With our support, Apple Pay payment system is being successfully used. Negotiations are underway on using technologies such as Google Pay and Samsung Pay in Azerbaijan. We are doing our best to ensure that these companies include Azerbaijan in their lists. This requires compliance with certain conditions - contactless payment, e-commerce, etc. We are focused on the development of these areas,” he said.
