Oil prices fell slightly in trading on February 9 after jumping more than 3% in the previous session, Report informs referring to Interfax.
The price of April futures for Brent oil on the London ICE Futures exchange amounted to $81.40 per barrel. This is $0.23 (0.28%) lower than at the previous close.
WTI oil futures for March in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) fell by $0.16 (0.21%) to $76.06 per barrel.
Both Brent and WTI are up more than 5% this week as tensions in the Middle East rise. The US and its allies continue to strike Houthi rebel positions in Yemen, and hopes for a truce between Israel and Hamas have been dashed.
