Norway strengthens security of oil facilities

Norway decided to strengthen the protection of oil facilities with the help of the Norwegian Home Guard territorial troops, which will patrol oil facilities to prevent unwanted incidents, the Norwegian Defense Ministry said, Report informs.
Norwegian Home Guard Territorial Defense Soldiers will increase security and patrols at the oil facilities in Rogaland, Vestlandet and Møre og Romsdal from October 3rd, the ministry said.
The measure was taken at the request of the police, who fear "undesirable" incidents at sites important to Norway.
Ensuring the security and protection of critical civilian and military infrastructure is one of the main tasks of Norwegian Home Guard.
