Green energy makes up 55% of power generation in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan

From January through August 2024, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan achieved a significant milestone with 55% of its total electricity production coming from renewable energy sources, Report informs, citing the State Energy Service of the autonomous republic.
The breakdown of electricity production for this period shows that 45% was generated by Thermal Power Stations, 42% by Hydroelectric Power Stations, and 13% by Solar Power Stations, all of which were transferred to the grid.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the production of electricity from renewable energy sources has seen a 20% increase.
