According to a recent report by the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDC), Azerbaijan exported an impressive 6.68 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye between January and July 2024. This figure represents a substantial 10.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

In July 2024 alone, Azerbaijan's gas exports to Türkiye reached 1.004 billion cubic meters, marking a remarkable 13.65% year-on-year growth. This surge in Azerbaijani gas imports accounted for a significant 28.09% of Türkiye's total natural gas imports for the month.

Türkiye's overall gas imports in July witnessed a notable 17.94% increase, totaling 3.57 billion cubic meters. Pipeline gas made up the lion's share at 86.9% (3.11 billion cubic meters), while liquefied natural gas (LNG) accounted for the remaining 13.1% (468.75 million cubic meters). Interestingly, pipeline gas imports saw a 21.91% rise, while LNG imports experienced a slight 2.99% decline.

In July, Türkiye received gas supplies from four countries: Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran via pipelines, and Algeria in the form of LNG. Among these suppliers, Azerbaijan secured the second position.
