Azerbaijan posts 3.3% increase in gas supplies to Italy in 2024

Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Italy via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in 2024 amounted to 10.315 billion cubic meters, which is 3.3% more than in 2023.

Report informs, citing Italy's Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, that overall, in 2024, the country imported 61.864 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 0.6% more than the previous year. Azerbaijan accounted for 16.7% of all supplies.

According to the agency, in December, Azerbaijani gas supplies to Italy amounted to 932 million cubic meters (an increase of 16% compared to December 2023), or 11.8% of the total imports, which are estimated at 7.915 billion cubic meters (an increase of 10%).

Azerbaijan began exporting gas to Europe on December 31, 2022.
