Azerbaijan increases gas exports by nearly 6%

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 12.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe, Report informs, citing the country's Ministry of Energy.

Gas sales to Europe increased by 1.1 billion cubic meters or 9.3% compared to 2023.

Overall, Azerbaijan's gas exports in 2024 amounted to 25.2 billion cubic meters, which is 5.8% more than the previous year.

Last year, Azerbaijan sold 9.9 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye and 2.4 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Gas exports to Türkiye increased by 0.4 billion cubic meters or 4.2% compared to 2023, while exports to Georgia decreased by 0.1 billion cubic meters or 4%.

During the reporting period, approximately 5.6 billion cubic meters of gas was transported to Türkiye via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). This volume is the same as in 2023.

Currently, the transmission capacity of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor transporting Azerbaijani gas to southern Europe, has reached 12 billion cubic meters per year.
