Baku to host international Green STEAM Azerbaijan festival

The 4th international "Green STEAM Azerbaijan" festival, organized by the STEAM Azerbaijan project and supported by the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, is set to take place on October 24-25 at the Baku Expo Center.

Report informs citing the ministry that the event aims to promote STEAM education, green innovations, and preparations for the upcoming COP29 conference.

With Azerbaijan hosting COP29 and declaring 2024 as the Green World Solidarity Year, the festival seeks to encourage the development of innovative solutions and the STEAM-based projects on improving the environment, efficient use of water resources, and alternative energy sources.

The STEAM Azerbaijan Festival (SAF 2024), now in its fourth iteration, will feature competitions in 8 categories, including H2 Grand Prix PRO, FlyTech, CubeSaT, VEX IQ Competition, VEX Robotics Competition, VidX, Engineers of Future, Green initiatives, and Green Coding. Additionally, there will be an exhibition-contest titled "Green Initiatives."

Teams from Azerbaijan and various countries such as Türkiye, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the United States are expected to attend the festival.

The STEAM educational method is an integrated approach to teaching five key disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics.
