Precinct chairman: Voting continues transparently

Voting in Azerbaijan Municipal Elections continues in a transparent manner, with voters casting their votes for their preferred candidates, Kamala Huseynova, Chairman of Precinct No. 7 at Constituency No. 45, told Report.

According to Huseynova, the voting process continues normally: "1,161 voters are registered at the precinct, of whom 3 will vote for the first time. The voting process is proceeding normally, voting continues in a transparent manner. Voters are supporting their preferred candidates."

The voting will run until 19:00 (GMT+4).

The elections are being held at 5,846 polling stations covering 118 electoral districts. In total, 16,092 candidates are competing for 8,071 seats in 685 municipalities.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), 5,961,987 voters are eligible to participate in the elections.

January 29 has been declared a non-working day in Azerbaijan due to the elections.
