Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia mull prospects for cooperation in social sphere

Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia discussed further cooperation in the social sphere, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan said.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili. The minister noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia are constantly developing, and the two leaders pay special attention to the development of these ties.

The sides noted the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2021 between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the relevance of the 5th Conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, which will be held on November 21-23 in Baku, was emphasized. It was noted that this international event will help expand cooperation between OIC countries in the field of labor, employment and social protection.
