The expulsion of nearly 300,000 Western Azerbaijanis from the territory of present-day Armenia is an unprecedented and unjust decision that the international community must condemn, according to an open letter by Azerbaijan's Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva addressed to international and national human rights organizations and ombudsmen of foreign countries.
Report informs that Aliyeva said the world must keep the issue of ensuring their right to a dignified and safe return at the center of attention. Furthermore, the continuation of this situation should be perceived as a threat to international peace and security.
