Azerbaijan, Russia discuss strengthening fight against law offenses in nature protection

Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev held a meeting with his Russian counterpart Igor Krasnov.

Report informs, citing Russian media, that Krasnov called on his Azerbaijani colleagues during the meeting to consolidate efforts of supervisory and law enforcement agencies in environmental protection.

According to him, Russia welcomes the initiative of Azerbaijan's prosecutor's office to intensify law enforcement efforts in combating climate change and notes the importance of the COP29 climate conference being held in Baku.

"I have no doubt that the potential of prosecution authorities will be in demand for solving this task," said the Russian Prosecutor General.

As an example, he cited the cooperation of Caspian region countries on environmental security.
