Al Jarwan: Protection of planet is impossible without NGO contributions

It is impossible to mobilize for the protection of the planet for future generations, raise awareness, and ensure broad support for climate financing policy without the contribution of civil society, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, said during a COP29 event in Baku, Report informs.

Al Jarwan noted that civil society has a fundamental role not only in implementing environmental programs but also in directing public opinion, raising awareness about climate issues, and encouraging decision-makers to work diligently for sustainability:

"In this context, non-governmental organizations play an important role in implementing community projects and organizing awareness campaigns aimed at achieving the objectives of the Conference of Parties and increasing the sustainability of environmental heritage. Through their various initiatives, NGOs can build broad cooperation bridges with public and private institutions, which increases the effectiveness of efforts to achieve sustainability."
