Number of employment contracts nears 1.7 million in Azerbaijan

The number of labor contracts concluded in Azerbaijan increased by 297,300 units compared to the beginning of 2019 and reached 1,699,300 as of June 1, 2022, Report informs citing the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
In the private section of the non-oil sector, the figure increased by 250,100 units to 790,000.
As of June 1, the number of active taxpayers increased by 2.9% to 684,699. During the reporting period, the number of active VAT payers grew by 5.7% to 36,666 and the number of active facilities (economic entities) went up by 1.3% to 185,736.
