Azerbaijan increases car imports by 32%

In January-May 2021, Azerbaijan imported 31,220 cars worth $ 318 million (31.95% and 58.65% more, respectively, compared to the same period last year), Report informs, referring to State Customs Committee.

According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats dropped 28.2% to 51 ($ 4.625 million), and passenger cars and other motor vehicles rose by 56.5% to 28,840 ($ 274.301 million).

Of these, 3,719 ($ 22.564 million) are electric-powered vehicles with internal combustion engines, and 29 ($ 1.046 million) are electric-powered vehicles only.

It means a 2.1-fold increase in the first and a 64.2% decrease in the second.

Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation grew by 105.2% to 2,286 ($ 33.375 million), and special vehicles dropped by 36.8% to 43 ($ 5.839 million).
