Azerbaijan boosts watermelon imports from China by 300 times

In January-April 2025, Azerbaijan imported 337 tons of watermelons worth $224,000, marking a year-on-year decrease of 10% both in terms of volume and value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During this period, Azerbaijan purchased watermelons from:

- Iran: 329.6 tons (-9%) worth $215,300 (-9%);

- Brazil: 4.13 tons (-59%) worth $5,300 (-56%);

- China: 3 tons (+300 times) worth $3,000 (+100 times).

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan imported 900 tons of watermelons in 2024, of which 88.8% came from Iran.
