Azerbaijan begins importing table salt from Canada

In January-October 2024, Azerbaijan imported 10,584 tons of table salt (iodized), valued at $1.3 million - up 21% year-on-year (YoY) in volume and 25% YoY in value, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 8,368 tons (+43.3%) of table salt from Iran worth $669,000 (+43%), 953.3 tons (-61%) from Russia worth $155,800 (-56%), 621 tons (+44 times) from Belarus worth $155,500 (+26 times), 168 tons (+3 times) from Pakistan worth $99,100 (+2.4 times), and 226 tons (-0.1%) from Türkiye worth $97,500 (+17%).
In 2024, Azerbaijan imported table salt from Canada (0.01 tons worth $200) for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
