Subsidies allocated in Azerbaijan for irrigation systems exceed $50M

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture allocated 93.3 million manat (about $54.8 million) in subsidies to farmers for the installation of irrigation systems over the last five years, the Ministry's Chief of Staff, Azad Jafarli, said at the event titled “Raising Ambition, Delivering Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum”, Report informs.
According to him, these funds were allocated for 38,200 hectares of land.
Jafarli highlighted that modern irrigation systems have been installed on 119,500 hectares in Azerbaijan: "The use of modern irrigation systems is encouraged in the country."
