Azerbaijan's barley imports drop dramatically

In January-May of this year, Azerbaijan imported 833 tons of barley worth $353,000.
Report informs, referring to the State Customs Committee, that this is 11,175 tons (14.4 times) less than in the corresponding period of 2021, and in terms of value, the decline makes $2,204,000 (7.2 times).
While the last year's price of a ton of barley was $213.08, this year its cost has increased to $423.7.
In 2021, Azerbaijan harvested 1,146,700 tons of barley from 373,700 hectares of land in Azerbaijan. The yield made 30.7 centners.
