The use of artificial intelligence in Azerbaijan's agroparks opens up flexible opportunities for large-scale projects, the head of the department of the Italian company TIM International, Attilio Somma, said at the II International Forum of Agricultural Innovations in Baku.
He noted that the team he leads works in various fields, integrating cloud solutions, IoT, AI and cybersecurity technologies.
"One of the key areas of our activity is AgriTech, which we started five years ago together with Google Cloud. Despite that in Europe the level of AI implementation exceeds 50%, in the agricultural sector it remains at 20%. Therefore, we have created a platform that combines IoT sensors for irrigation, temperature monitoring and other processes. This allows farmers to promptly analyze the condition of plants and increase production efficiency," Somma noted.
He added that AI algorithms help in business planning and budget control, reducing costs and increasing productivity.
However, artificial intelligence itself is only a tool, he noted.
Efficiency is achieved through its integration with other technologies, he said.
