Swarovski, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of crystals for manufacturers of jewelry, clothing and lighting equipment, is suspending sales in Russia, sales in the online store are temporarily unavailable, Report informs referring to the company.

“Due to the current situation, sales at the swarovski.com online store are temporarily unavailable for this region,” the brand’s website said in a statement.

Swarovski AG is an Austrian company founded in 1895 that specializes in the production of loose crystals, jewelry, crystal figurines and the cutting of synthetic and natural gemstones. The company also manufactures optical equipment and finished lamps and chandeliers.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine early in the morning on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years." In response, the US, EU countries and a number of other states imposed new sanctions against Russia and major Russian organizations.
