Baku. 17 December. REPORT.AZ/ Russia does not plan to create pro-Russian NGOs or expand the staff of its embassy in Armenia, as the USA does, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
Report informs that Lavrov spoke in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, commenting on the large number of pro-American NGOs and the presence of one of the largest US embassies in Armenia.
"Americans have their own criteria which they follow in their activity. We have our own traditions, our own financial restraints, because this whole non-governmental team that works in the former Soviet Union costs money. Overwhelmingly, this is either the International Development Agency of the United States Department of State, which is a donor of these organizations, or international or democratic institutions belonging to the Republican Party of the United States, or other structures. George Soros, of course, who is working very actively there, as in many other parts of our space, and beyond," Lavrov said.
The minister admitted that American diplomats make quantitative advantage over Russians in Armenia.
