Zakharova: Russia preserves memory of Heydar Aliyev

Russia respects and preserves the memory of Heydar Aliyev, an extraordinary, talented person and statesman, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a weekly briefing, Report informs.

Zakharova recalled that in 2023, memorial events were held in Moscow and other Russian cities in honor of the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth, and now a symbolic stone has been laid in the foundation of a monument to Heydar Aliyev in Russia.

"The upcoming installation of the monument will be an important cultural and humanitarian event for our countries," Zakharova noted, adding that new joint projects are expected.
