Slovakia didn’t receive compensation in the amount of 700 million euros, promised by the EU and the US for the transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak said, Report informs.
Military aircraft were transferred to Kyiv free of charge in April 2023.
According to the minister, the EU has already confirmed that Slovakia will not receive compensation for fighter jets in 2024. In 2023, the European Peace Facility allocated 82 million euros to the country for assistance provided to Ukraine. Slovakia should receive another 5.5 million euros, after which it will already be entitled to compensation for the fighters.
