Polish presidential candidate demonstratively wipes feet on EU flag and sets it on fire

Polish far-right presidential candidate Grzegorz Braun demonstratively wiped his feet on the EU flag at the country's Ministry of Industry, then doused it with gasoline and set it on fire.

As per Report, on Tuesday Braun shared a video showing him entering the ministry building and removing the EU flag from the pole in the lobby.

After a short verbal altercation with the Ministry of Industry employees, he threw the flag on the floor and wiped his feet on it. He stated that the EU flag is not subject to legal protection in Poland.

Braun is a member of the European Parliament. On Tuesday, the EP stripped him of his parliamentary immunity at the request of Polish law enforcement agencies, who intend to charge him with a number of crimes.

He is also known for his hooligan antics. For example, he put out Hanukkah candles with a fire extinguisher in the Polish Sejm building, broke into a hospital and attacked a doctor who performed an abortion on a patient.

Braun is one of 13 candidates for president of Poland. According to numerous opinion polls, he has no chance of making it to the second round of the elections, the first round of which will be held on May 18.
