Muhammad Rabbani says organizers of OSCE Warsaw conference studying issue of banning his entry into Poland

Organizers of the Warsaw OSCE Human Dimension Conference are studying the issue of banning the entry into Poland for the managing director of the British independent human rights organization CAGE, Muhammad Rabbani.

“The conference organizers are aware that I was not allowed into Poland. My CAGE team was already there at that time. The organizers have a mandate, an obligation to ensure the participation of civil society and NGOs in such conferences. They said that they take the issue very seriously and will try to respond to this situation appropriately. What happened means that one of the participating countries is interfering with the work of a human rights organization and preventing its participation in the event. This is a serious issue and the organizers are studying it,” Rabbani said in an interview with CBC.

On the initiative of the French authorities, Muhammad Rabbani was denied entry into Poland, where he was supposed to speak at the Warsaw OSCE Human Dimension Conference, the world’s largest regional intergovernmental organization uniting 57 participating countries.

Last year he also made a speech criticizing France, after which he was banned from entering the country. France continues to relentlessly pursue human rights activist Rabbani, this time extending its targeting to Poland, abusing international information exchange between states to suppress dissent.
