Coronavirus: S.Korea confirms 22 cases in last 24 hours

South Korea has confirmed 22 more cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, raising the total tally to 10,613 with 230 deaths, 72 recoveries.

South Korea's daily increase in virus infections has been below 30 for the fourth consecutive day. The government declared Daegu and North Gyeongsang province as "special disaster zones."

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
