Belgian senator may be new PACE president

The winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) begins today in Strasbourg. French Bureau of Report informs that a new president will be elected to the board at the meeting. Rik Daems, Member of the Belgian Senate, is the only candidate for the post.
He will replace the current PACE president, Swiss MP Liliane Maury Pasquier.
Daems is the Chairperson of the Belgian Alliance of Democrats and Liberals for Europe.
The PACE winter session ends on January 31.
