Alice Weidel, co-chairwoman of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, called on the German government to announce early elections in light of the failure of the ruling coalition in the European Parliament elections.
According to Report, she shared a post on her X social media account:
"The European Parliament elections were a big event: Germany voted against the chancellor and the ruling coalition at the same time. Now German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has only one task left: instead of governing for another year against a large majority of the population, he should pave the way for early elections.”
