"There are two laws on IDPs and refugees in Azerbaijan. One of them is the law 'On the status of IDPs and refugees,' and the other is the law 'On the social protection of IDPs and their equals,'" said Fuad Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.
Report informs that according to these laws, IDPs lose their status after returning to their native lands: "As for the issue of allowance, I can say that even after replacing in their homelands, we will continue to provide social assistance and social protection to our former IDP compatriots for three years."
