The future of the South Caucasus should be shaped not by conflicts, but by peace, security, cooperation and prosperity, Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler said.
According to Report, Güler made the remarks during an event marking the 108th anniversary of Baku's liberation from enemy occupation.
He said Türkiye supports constructive steps toward establishing lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"We want the South Caucasus to move into a new era of peace and partnership. During Azerbaijan's historic Victory in the Patriotic War, the Turkish people and state provided support with all their means. Today, the three-colored flag flying in Shusha, Khankendi and every corner of Karabakh is a great source of pride not only for Azerbaijan, but for the entire Turkic world," Güler said.
He described the current level of relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan as one of the highest points in their history.
"The partnership between the two countries in defense and security has gone through a significant stage of development. Our armed forces cooperate closely in exercises, military experience sharing, demining operations, and defense industry and technology projects. At the heart of this strong partnership lies the spirit of comradeship and brotherhood that emerged in 1918," the minister said.
