Charles Michel: Providing more military aid to Ukraine is urgent issue

We understand the urgency of supporting Ukraine with more weapons and air defense systems, and we look forward to an in-depth discussion of this issue, said Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, Report informs.

"We promised Ukraine more ammunition and 1 million shells, and we all must fulfill this main promise we made at the Council of Europe," he said.

Michel added that it should not be forgotten that the EU countries have decided to launch a new mechanism - the European Peace Mechanism: "This mechanism is extremely useful for supporting Ukraine, we have used it a lot, but we see that this mechanism needs reforms. Based on the proposal put on the table by the High Representative, we decided to make further progress. Probably, more funds should be allocated to this mechanism."
