Hybrid cars imported to Azerbaijan to be exempted from VAT

Hybrid cars imported to Azerbaijan will be exempted from Value Added Tax (VAT), Report informs.

In this regard, changes are proposed to the Tax Code.

According to the amendments, the import and sale of hybrid cars manufactured within the last three years and an engine capacity of no more than 2,500 cubic centimeters will be exempt from taxes for three years in Azerbaijan, from January 1, 2022.

The current VAT rate is 18% in Azerbaijan.
