Germany may allocate more funds for global fight against pandemic

The German Federal Government wants to allocate an additional €1.5bn for the global fight against the pandemic.
Report informs with reference to Deutsche Welle that the German Federal Ministry of Finance has sent the proposal to the Bundestag budget committee.
Of this amount, €620m will reportedly be used to supply vaccines to developing countries, while another €100m will be directed to purchasing jabs for their distribution for humanitarian purposes.
The remaining funds are earmarked for vaccine research, diagnostics, support to healthcare systems.
