Azerbaijan-based banks see 5% rise in assets

As of June 1, 2020, the assets of Azerbaijan-based banks’ assets amounted to AZN 31,260.8 million, up 5.4% from a year earlier, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Of this, the loans issued to customers amounted to AZN 13,038.7 million. The loan portfolio extended by 14.15%, share of loans in assets increased from 38.5% to 41.7%.
In the reporting period, the liabilities grew by 6.1% to AZN 26,701.3 million with the deposit portfolio risen by 6.5% to AZN 19,94 million. Individuals accounted for AZN 7,551 million, while legal entities made up AZN 12,398.3 million.
The liabilities of the banks to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) rose by 73.6% to AZN 397.7 million, and net worth surged by 1.5% to AZN 4,559.4 million.
