The Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria proposes to conclude an agreement on the supply of the US LNG on seven tankers in the winter months, Acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov said at the beginning of the government meeting, Report informs citing TASS.

“The Ministry of Energy will offer to conclude an agreement on seven vessels with liquefied gas, which will improve Bulgaria’s energy security,” Petkov said. “The condition for receiving this amount of gas is the provision of the necessary infrastructure [for offloading gas] in Greece and Turkiye, which the interim government must provide. The agreement to be proposed today is an important step in working with the European Commission to secure natural gas during the winter months.”

Today’s meeting is the final one in the work of the Petkov government, after the Bulgarian socialists failed to successfully implement the third mandate to form a government. President Rumen Radev is expected to soon sign a decree to dissolve the parliament, appoint an interim government and set the date for snap parliamentary elections.
