Baerbock: Germany and Europe intensify efforts at COP29 for climate action success

Germany and Europe are actively working at COP29 to achieve success in the climate agenda, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said at a press conference in Baku, according to Report.

"Germany and Europe are actively participating in the climate conference. After all, the climate crisis, in the context of all other challenges, poses the biggest threat to security policy both today and for the coming decades," Baerbock stated. "We are already acutely feeling its impact worldwide and know that it will only intensify if we fail to at least get close to the 1.5-degree mark."

Baerbock emphasized that the climate crisis represents the most serious security threat in the modern world, with its consequences transcending national borders. She cited recent floods that led to significant destruction in Bangladesh and the Spanish region of Valencia as examples.
