Samad Gurbanov: Azerbaijani businessmen actively invest in Russian economy

Baku. 24 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani businessmen are actively investing in the Russian economy, chairman of the board of the Azerbaijani-Russian Business Council Samad Gurbanov said.

Report informs that he was speaking at an expanded meeting of the Azerbaijani-Russian and Russian-Azerbaijani business councils in Baku.

"We are ready to establish contacts with all the subjects of Russia and also to stimulate interest of Azerbaijani business circles in investing in these regions”, Gurbanov said.

He noted that Azerbaijani businessmen are actively investing in the Russian economy, in particular, Azerbaijani businessmen have recently implemented a number of large-scale projects in Russian regions with the direct assistance of the business council.

He cited as an example the commissioning of a resort center by the Azerbaijani company Karat Holding in the city of Yessentuki where investments made $ 25 mln.

"At the same time, the Azerbaijani group of companies ATEF became the first foreign resident of the Lotos special economic zone Lotus in the Astrakhan region”, - Gurbanov said. He added that the construction of an electrical equipment plant is currently underway, with $ 18 mln in investment.
