Azerbaijan remains top investor in Georgia

Tbilisi. 10 September. REPORT.AZ/ In the first half of 2018 Azerbaijan invested $136.5 million in Georgia, Report informs citing the initial statement of the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
According to the statement, Azerbaijan invested $56 million in the first quarter and $80.5 million in the second quarter. This indicator made Azerbaijan the top investor of Georgia.
Azerbaijan is followed by the Czech Republic with $77.9 million in investment and the Netherlands with $97.8 million.
Total direct investments made in Georgia’s economy in the first half amounted to $676.2 million. Most of the investments were made in energy ($117.7 million), transport and communication ($87.2 million) and finance ($174.9 million).
