Azerbaijan increases car imports

In January-August this year, Azerbaijan imported 33,178 cars worth $ 399,498,580 (6,483 units or 24.29% more than the same period last year), Report says, referring to State Customs Committee.

Over the past year, imports of motor vehicles designed to carry ten or more people, including drivers, decreased by 138 pieces or 56.1% to 108 (worth $ 9.2 million), imports of passenger cars and other motor vehicles, mainly for the transport of people, rose by 6,938 or 28.8% to 31,026 ($ 348.2 million).

Of these vehicles, 3,050  ($ 17.5 million) are electric-powered vehicles with internal combustion engines, and 136 ($ 7.7 million) are electric-powered vehicles only.

Besides, imports of motor vehicles for freight lowered by 302 units or 13.35% to 1,960 (worth $ 28.5 million), while special purpose motor vehicles - by 15 or 15.15% to 84.  ($ 13.6 million).
