Azerbaijan supplied 4.2 million eggs to Russia in January 2024

Almost 79 million eggs were imported to Russia in January 2024 from Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Belarus, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), Report informs.

“In January 2024, 78.9 million eggs from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Türkiye were imported into the domestic market,” Rosselkhoznadzor said.

Azerbaijan sent 4.2 million eggs to the Russian Federation in January. Since the beginning of deliveries (December 2023), 5.5 million eggs were imported from Azerbaijan, 5.6 million from Türkiye, and 69 million eggs from Belarus.

Since the beginning of the opening of the Russian market for the supply of food eggs from Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Rosselkhoznadzor has controlled the import of more than 11.1 million eggs. Six Azerbaijani enterprises and 21 Turkish companies have permission to export food eggs to Russia.

In 2023, eggs in the Russian Federation increased in price by 1.6 times, in December - by 18.2%. In January, consumer prices began to decline. From January 10 to January 15, eggs fell in price by 0.2%, for the first time since the end of June 2023; from January 16 to 22, the fall accelerated to 1.4%, but from January 23 to 29, the rate of price decline slowed to 1%.
