Azerbaijan increases potato purchases from Georgia by 12 times

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported 39,218 tons (3% less YoY) of potatoes (excluding seed potatoes) worth $11.62 million (9% more YoY), Report informs citing the country's State Statistics Committee

During the two-month period, Azerbaijan purchased 26,574 tons (no supplies a year ago) of potatoes from Türkiye worth $7.48 million, 10,412 tons (+12 times) from Georgia (+12 times) for $3.52 million, 1,777 tons from Iran (-92%) for $465,000 (-91%), 33,131 tons (-98%) from Russia for $8,300 (-98.6%), and 8,846 tons (+4 times) from Pakistan for $2,760 (+5 times).

In 2024, 46.5% of the 142,897 tons of potatoes imported to Azerbaijan came from Iran, 23.2% from Russia, and 16.8% from Georgia.
