Russian Foreign Ministry: Attempts by French authorities doomed to failure

In connection with increasingly bellicose statements by the French leadership and incoming information about France’s growing involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, on May 6, the French ambassador to Moscow, Pierre Levy, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian bureau of Report informs referring to the ministry.

The statement notes that the attempts of the French authorities to create with their statements about the possible dispatch of Western military contingents to Ukraine some kind of “strategic uncertainty” for Russia are doomed to failure: “The Russian side outlined fundamental assessments of the destructive and provocative line of Paris, leading to a further escalation of the conflict. It was emphasized that the attempts of the French authorities to create some kind of “strategic uncertainty” for Russia with their irresponsible statements about the possible dispatch of Western military contingents to Ukraine are doomed to failure.”
