Armenia, Iran intend to raise trade turnover to $3 billion - UPDATED

Armenia and Iran plan to increase their bilateral trade turnover to $3 billion, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a joint briefing with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Yerevan.
He noted that the current figure stands at around $1 billion.
“In this regard, the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran provides new opportunities for entrepreneurs,” Pashinyan said.
In addition, the two sides intend to elevate cooperation between their countries to the level of a strategic partnership.
“We agreed that the time has come to work towards raising the relations of our countries to the level of a strategic partnership,” Pashinyan said.

The visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Armenia demonstrates the high level of relations between the two countries, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during expanded-format talks with the Iranian president in Yerevan.
According to Report, he noted that during his one-on-one meeting with Pezeshkian, they discussed a wide range of issues.
In turn, Pezeshkian wrote on social network X that during the talks with Pashinyan, he emphasized the importance of continuing the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as “completely eliminating concerns regarding the presence of third forces near their shared borders.”
