Death toll from Georgia landslide reaches 20

The total number of deaths as a result of a landslide in the resort of Shovi in the high-mountainous region of Racha in Georgia has amounted to 20, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said, Report informs referring to TASS.
“According to the latest information, 33 people are considered missing, and, according to data updated this morning, the bodies of 20 people were found,” Papuashvili said at a briefing.
A huge landslide in Shovi occurred on August 3. Bridges, roads, tourist cottages and the Sunset Shovi Hotel were damaged. According to preliminary data of experts, more than 5 million cubic meters of soil came down from the mountains. The total area of the disaster site was 26 hectares.
