Survey: Almost two-thirds of Germans were in favor of banning AfD

Almost two-thirds of German citizens consider the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party to be right-wing extremist, according to an Insa Institute survey for the Bild newspaper, published on May 4, Report informs.
According to the survey, 61% of German residents consider the AfD to be right-wing extremist. It is specified that 48% of respondents also support banning the party.
In turn, 31% of citizens disagree with the wording, and another 8% could not give an unambiguous answer. Some 37% of respondents opposed the AfD ban, 8% found it difficult to answer, and 7% showed indifference to the fate of the party.
