The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) suspends the participation of its representatives in negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces of Sudan (RSF) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Al-Hadath TV said, Report informs via TASS.
The SAF informed the United States and Saudi Arabia, which act as mediators in the negotiation process, of their decision and called for pressure on the RSF to comply with the terms of the humanitarian truce. The reason for this decision, according to Al-Hadath, was the refusal of the RSF to withdraw their fighters from hospitals and residential buildings. Earlier, sources in the Sudanese Armed Forces said that this is the main condition that the army puts forward to the Rapid Support Forces during the negotiation process for a humanitarian truce.
The RSF, for their part, held the SAF responsible for violating the terms of the temporary ceasefire, which was extended on Monday for another five days. According to an official statement by an RSF representative on Twitter, the army attacked several RSF positions and fired artillery in the cities of Omdurman and North Khartoum.
