Baku. 13 September. REPORT.AZ/ The Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk (western Siberia) will host the 2020 World Chess Olympiad, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the President of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), has informed, Report says.
"Congratulations to Khanty-Mansiysk. It beat such countries as Argentina and Slovakia in the fight for the right to host the Chess Olympiad," Ilyumzhinov said.
Chess Olympiads are held every other year.
This year Baku hosts 42nd World Chess Olympiad 2016, which ends today.
In 2018, the competitions will take place in Batumi, Georgia.
