Azerbaijan will host international swimming competitions

Baku. 1 November. REPORT.AZ/ The Ministry of Youth and Sports has today hosted the signing ceremony of declaration between the European Swimming League (LEN) and Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF).

Report informs, Minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov, LEN President Paolo Barelli, ASF President Khanlar Fatiyev and other officials attended the event.

Rahimov said that P. Barelli is also President of Italian Swimming Federation, for this reason important talks for future activity were held between national federations of two countries.

“Organization of international competitions in Azerbaijan was also discussed with him. We will disclose the name and date of competitions after informing the country’s leadership.”

Barelli said that long-term relations have been established between the parties. He added that Azerbaijan has a huge swimming capacity: “There is an important venue here - Aquatic Palace. In the future, we would like to see Azerbaijani athletes in the leading positions. I wish major tournaments to be held soon in Azerbaijan.”

He added that this contract is a basis for future cooperation

At the end of event, Presidents of LEN and ASF have signed declaration on cooperation.
